Little Shop of Horrors

Little Shop of Horrors, the classic musical by Howard Ashman and Alan Mencken, returned to Off-Broadway in Fall 2019, co-produced by Caiola Productions.  This thrilling new production at the intimate Westside Theatre stars Emmy® Award winner Tammy Blanchard (“Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows”), Tony Award® nominee Jonathan Groff (Hamilton), and two-time Tony Award® winner Christian Borle (Something Rotten!) and is directed by Tony Award® winner Michael Mayer.

My Fair Lady

Caiola Productions was pleased to support Lincoln Center’s stunning revival of Lerner and Loewe’s beloved classic musical, My Fair Lady, which opened on Broadway during the 2018-19 season. Winner of the 2018 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical, the lavish production was directed by Bartlett Sher.  In Fall 2019, My Fair Lady begins a 65-week tour of North America, co-produced by Caiola Productions.

Pretty Woman The Musical

Based on the blockbuster classic film, Pretty Woman the Musical arrived on the Broadway stage in July 2018, co-produced by Caiola Productions.  This beloved Cinderella love story between the beautiful and spirited Vivien (Samantha Barks) and her handsome prince, Edward (Andy Karl) is directed and choreographed by multiple Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, who leads a creative team including the original screenwriter of the film and songwriters Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance.

All The Way

Winner of the Tony®, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle, and New York Drama Critics Circle Awards for Best Play of 2014, All The Way, is an epic play about the first year of LBJ’s presidency, beginning with JFK’s assassination and continuing through the historic passage of the Civil Rights Act and LBJ’s tumultuous 1964 campaign. The Color Purple

Winner of the 2016 Tony Award® for Best Revival of a Musical, The Color Purple returned to Broadway in fall 2015 as a gorgeous, intimate reimaging of the beloved musical, directed by John Doyle.  Caiola Productions joined Oprah Winfrey on the producing team for the Broadway and National Tour.  The Broadway engagement, received rapturously by critics and audiences alike, also won a Tony Award® for its star, Cynthia Erivo, as Celie.  

Bitter Wheat

Bitter Wheat, a new play written and directed by David Mamet, premiered in London in 2019, starring John Malkovich. Co-produced by Caiola Productions, Bitter Wheat is Mamet’s controversial  response to the #MeToo movement as it tells the story of Barney Fein, a predatory Hollywood mogul laid low by his own sexual malfeasance. 

Frankie and Johnny

Broadway legend Audra McDonald and award-wining actor Michael Shannon star in Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Terence McNally’s classic play about two lonely people whose explosive one-night stand opens their hearts to a deeper kind of intimacy. Caiola Productions co-produces this exciting revival during the 2019-20 Broadway season.

Be More Chill

Be More Chill is a new musical about a high school student seeking to boost his popularity.  He swallows a computer chip that coaches him on how to be cool and confident, leading to changes in his relationships with his family, friends and classmates.  Written by Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz, and co-produced by Caiola Productions, Be More Chill transferred to Broadway in February 2019, following a sold-out Off-Broadway run.

THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the Broadway premiere The Lifespan of a Fact starring Daniel Radcliffe, Cherry Jones, and Bobby Cannavale. Directed by Leigh Silverman, this new play about a young fact-checker for a prestigious national magazine who discovers how blurry the line can be between fact and fiction, played a highly successful 16-week engagement at Studio 54 from September 2018-January 2019.

TORCH SONG

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the Tony Award nominated 2018-19 Broadway season revival of Harvey Fierstein’s Torch Song starring Michael Urie and Mercedes Ruehl.  Directed by Moisés Kaufman, this revival premiered Off-Broadway at Second Stage in 2017 and transferred to Broadway in Fall 2018 for a limited engagement.

Once On This Island

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the 2018 Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Once On This Island, written by the Tony Award-winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Steven Flaherty, and directed by Tony Award-nominated director Michael Arden. Buoyed by a fantastic score full of Caribbean sounds and rhythms, it is a musical with a beautiful message for all time.
