During the 2015-16 season, Al Pacino returned to Broadway for a limited engagement of China Doll, a new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet. The production was directed by Tony Award® winner Pam McKinnon and co-produced by Caiola Productions.

Sylvia

Starring one of America’s favorite actors, two-time Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick, A.R. Gurney’s enduring and endearing comedy arrived on Broadway for the first time in fall 2015.  Co-starring Annaleigh Ashford (2015 Tony Award, Best Featured Actress in a Play) and Julie White (2007 Tony Award, Best Actress in a Play), directed by Daniel Sullivan (2001 Tony Award, Best Director of a Play), and co-produced by Caiola Productions, Sylvia played a limited engagement.

An American In Paris

With a gorgeous and iconic Gershwin score and a romantic new book written by Broadway playwright Craig Lucas, An American In Paris arrived on Broadway in the spring of 2015, co-produced by Caiola Productions.  Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, an internationally-acclaimed star of the dance world, An American In Paris starred Robert Fairchild and Leanne Cope.  The show was nominated for twelve Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and won in four categories including Best Choreography.

The Elephant Man

Two-time Academy Award® nominee Bradley Cooper (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook) returned to Broadway during the 2014-15 season starring in Bernard Pomerance’s Tony Award®-winning classic, The Elephant Man. Directed by Tony nominee Scott Ellis and co-produced by Caiola Productions, this limited engagement also starred Academy Award® nominee Patricia Clarkson and Alessandro Nivola. It’s Only A Play

Terrence McNally’s It’s Only A Play returned to Broadway during the 2014-15 season, with an all-star cast including Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, directed by Jack O’Brien.  Caiola Productions co-produced this classic show biz comedy, newly revised and updated by its multi-Tony Award winning author, which was a box office smash.

You Can’t Take It With You

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the acclaimed 2014-15 Broadway revival of the classic Pulitzer Prize winning comedy You Can’t Take It With You, one of the most popular and delightful American plays ever written. James Earl Jones led the cast as “Grandpa Vanderhof,” and the director was 6-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis. The production was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Play.

Nevermore

The Realistic Joneses

During the 2013-14 season, Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the Broadway premiere of The Realistic Joneses, a play by Will Eno. The Broadway production starred Toni Collette, Michael C. Hall, Tracy Letts and Marisa Tomei, and was directed by Sam Gold.  The cast earned a 2014 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance.

The Bridges of Madison County

During the 2013-14 season, Caiola Productions was a co-producer of The Bridges of Madison County, a musical based on the 1992 bestselling novel by Robert James Waller and its 1995 film adaptation starring Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood.  The musical was written by Marsha Norman and Jason Robert Brown, who earned 2014 Tony® and Drama Desk Awards for his luscious score. The Broadway cast starred Kelli O’Hara (Tony and Drama Desk nominee for her role) and Steven Pasquale.

Macbeth

During the 2013-14 season, Luigi and Rose Caiola co-produced this thrilling interpretation of Shakespeare’s darkest and most powerful tragedy, Macbeth.  Starring Tony Award® and Olivier Award winner and two-time Emmy nominee Alan Cumming, directed by Tony Award® winner John Tiffany and Andrew Goldberg, this Macbeth was set in a psychiatric unit with Cumming as the sole patient, reliving the infamous story and inhabiting each role himself.

Porgy and Bess (National Tour)

Winner of the 2012 Tony Award® for Best Revival of a Musical, the recent stunning Broadway revival of The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess embarked on an acclaimed tour of the U.S. from November 2013-July 2014.
