The Elephant Man
Two-time Academy Award® nominee Bradley Cooper (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook) returned to Broadway during the 2014-15 season starring in Bernard Pomerance’s Tony Award®-winning classic, The Elephant Man. Directed by Tony nominee Scott Ellis and co-produced by Caiola Productions, this limited engagement also starred Academy Award® nominee Patricia Clarkson and Alessandro Nivola. Based on the real life of Joseph Merrick, The Elephant Man tells the story of a 19th-century British man (Cooper) who became a star of the traveling freak show circuit, finding shameful exploitation and extraordinary kindness … and everything in between. The production was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Play. The Broadway revival of The Elephant Man also played a London engagement in spring 2015.
