THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the Broadway premiere The Lifespan of a Fact starring Daniel Radcliffe, Cherry Jones, and Bobby Cannavale. Directed by Leigh Silverman, this new play about a young fact-checker for a prestigious national magazine who discovers how blurry the line can be between fact and fiction, played a highly successful 16-week engagement at Studio 54 from September 2018-January 2019.

TORCH SONG

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the Tony Award nominated 2018-19 Broadway season revival of Harvey Fierstein’s Torch Song starring Michael Urie and Mercedes Ruehl.  Directed by Moisés Kaufman, this revival premiered Off-Broadway at Second Stage in 2017 and transferred to Broadway in Fall 2018 for a limited engagement.

Once On This Island

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the 2018 Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Once On This Island, written by the Tony Award-winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Steven Flaherty, and directed by Tony Award-nominated director Michael Arden. Buoyed by a fantastic score full of Caribbean sounds and rhythms, it is a musical with a beautiful message for all time.

THE ICEMAN COMETH

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the 2018 Broadway revival of Eugene O’Neill’s The Iceman Cometh starring Denzel Washington in the titanic role of “Hickey.” This stunning production was directed by Tony Award-winning director George C. Wolfe and was nominated for eight Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Play.

The Color Purple

Winner of the 2016 Tony Award® for Best Revival of a Musical, The Color Purple returned to Broadway in fall 2015 as a gorgeous, intimate reimaging of the beloved musical, directed by John Doyle.  Caiola Productions joined Oprah Winfrey on the producing team for the Broadway and National Tour.  The Broadway engagement, received rapturously by critics and audiences alike, also won a Tony Award® for its star, Cynthia Erivo, as Celie.  

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Luigi Caiola and Rose Caiola co-produced the Tony Award® winning 2012-2013 Broadway engagement of Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s revival of Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.  Winner of 3 Tony Awards® including Best Revival of a Play and 3 Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Revival of a Play, this historic production was directed by Pam MacKinnon (Tony Award® Best Director), and featured the original Steppenwolf cast, led by Tracy Letts (Tony Award® for Best Leading Actor) and Amy Morton.  Time Magazine named this sizzling […]

Significant Other

Following a successful Off-Broadway run at Roundabout Theatre, Significant Other transferred to Broadway in Spring 2017, marking the Broadway debuts of its author Joshua Harmon and director Trip Cullman. Caiola Productions was a co-producer of this touching and hilarious new comedy about a young gay man who watches his female friends getting married over the years, while yearning for a life-partner of his own.  

Sunday in the Park with George

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Analeigh Ashford, this concert version of Sondheim’s masterpiece, Sunday in the Park with George played a sold-out Broadway engagement in Spring 2017 following its premiere at NY City Center in Fall 2016. Caiola Productions co-produced the historic 10-week limited engagement at the newly renovated vintage 1903 Hudson Theatre on West 44th Street, which had not been used as a Broadway house since 1968.

Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the Broadway premiere of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 starring international music star Josh Groban, nominated for 12 Tony Awards including Best New Musical. Following acclaimed productions by Ars Nova and American Repertory Theatre, the Comet landed on Broadway in fall 2016 at the Imperial Theatre. Comet was written by Dave Malloy and directed by Rachel Chavkin.

Les Liaisons Dangereuses

Caiola Productions was a co-producer of the 2016-17 Broadway revival of Les Liaisons Dangereuses starring Tony Award winners Janet McTeer and Liev Schrieber as scheming French aristocrats of the ancien regime who play dangerous games of sexual manipulation and intrigue for their own amusement.  Written by Christopher Hampton and directed by Josie Rourke, the acclaimed Donmar Warehouse production played a limited engagement from October 2016 to January 2017.
